Start an order in Operator Tools

Production orders/articles can be started directly from the Production Plan in Operator Tools. When an order/article is started, it becomes the active production order for the selected Measure Point and production can begin.

Before you start

Make sure that you have selected the correct Measure Point in Operator Tools.

The Production Plan shows the production orders/articles available for the selected Measure Point. Before starting an order/article, check that you have selected the correct order and article.

Start a production order

1. Open Operator Tools.
2. Select the correct Measure Point.
3. Open Production Plan.
4. Find the production order/article you want to start.
5. Select the order and click Start.
6. Confirm the action if prompted.

The production order is now active and production can begin.

What happens when an order is started?

When you start a production order:

• The order becomes the active production order for the Measure Point.
• The article connected to the order becomes the currently produced article.
• Production data is recorded against the active order.
• Information related to the active order and article becomes available in Operator Tools.
• Relevant documents associated with the production may become available.
• Forms configured to start based on production events may be created automatically.

Check the active production order

After starting the order, check that the correct order and article are shown as active in Operator Tools.

If the wrong production order has been started, stop the order before starting the correct one.

Can't find the production order/article?

If the order you want to start is not visible in the Production Plan:

• Check that you have selected the correct Measure Point.
• Check that the order is included in the Production Plan.
• Check whether the order has already been completed or started.
• Contact your Production Manager or system administrator if the order is still missing.
